Event Details
Time: The competition will commence promptly at 10:00 AM with artists gathering at Mespil Hotel, and giving artists ample time to arrive and immerse themselves in the beauty of the canal surroundings and create their masterpieces.
Exhibition
Following the morning of artistic exploration, all completed artworks will be displayed on easels for public viewing at Mespil Hotel. Attendees will have the opportunity to marvel at the diverse interpretations of the landscape and appreciate the talent of participating artists.
Prizes
At 2:00 PM, join us for the much-anticipated prize-giving ceremony. A distinguished judge will award prizes to the most exceptional artworks, recognizing creativity, technique, and the ability to capture the spirit of Frances Bunch Moran's artistic legacy. The prize fund for the competition event is significant and the event is free to all.
How to Participate
Artists: Whether you're an experienced plein air painter or a novice eager to explore this timeless technique, we welcome artists of all levels to join us for this special event. Simply bring your preferred painting supplies, including easels and pochade boxes if desired, and let the serene ambiance of the canal inspire your creativity. We have a number of easels available to borrow if needed.
Observers
Not an artist yourself? No problem! All are welcome to attend as observers and admirers of the artistic process. Revel in the beauty of the surroundings, engage with participating artists, and witness the magic of plein air painting come to life before your eyes.
